YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS FOR CHANGE COMPETITION 2015-2016
Adventure Stage Chicago is seeking original
10-minute plays written by
middle school playwrights (grades 6-8)!
This year’s theme:
ON THE OUTSIDE LOOKING IN:
What Does It Mean To Be An Outsider?
All playwrights who enter the contest will receive:
- Participation in two free playwriting & theatre workshops led by artists from the Adventure Stage Chicago family of artists.
- Workshop 1, December 5th, from 10am-1pm, at Adventure Stage Chicago!
- Workshop 2, December 12th, from 10am-1pm, at Adventure Stage Chicago!
- RSVP for the Workshops at submissions@adventurestage.org!
- A free one-on-one playwriting feedback session in the ASC offices.
- One free youth ticket to the world premiere of SIGHT UNSEEN, which opens at ASC in the Spring of 2016!
Submission Deadline is Saturday, January 18, 2016.
Up to four finalists will be selected by ASC and will receive:
- A workshop performance of their play, staged by Adventure Stage Chicago artists.
One regional winner will be selected from the finalists and will receive:
- Entry into a national contest and a chance to see their play professionally presented in a staged reading in Washington D.C. in May 2016. The playwright and 1 family member will have the opportunity to attend conference (Hotel and travel included; Airfare from within the United States only).

I might a few students from northern Indiana that are interested in entering this contest. Would they be eligible?

The contest is open to playwrights in grades 6-8. But we look forward to seeing your daughter in a couple of years!
